As we are purely e-commerce and to keep our costs to minimum (and thus hopefully offer the lowest prices) we do not have anyone to answer the phone. It is permanently connected to an answer machine, so we would much prefer you to email or fax us.

The Background

ECD or E.C.Distributors (Piccadilly) Limited, to give it its full name, first starting selling valves in 1956.
For many years thereafter it specialised in buying large quantities of valves from the then East European factories and selling them overseas, mostly to North Africa, to the thriving TV Maintenance Industry.
Alas the Japanese then started flooding those markets with cheap colour sets, the Berlin Wall came down and the valve factories ceased to make valves. At that point we simply went off and did other things, as we had done several times in our 52 year history.

Recently we have been asked once again for valves, by contacts who remembered we were once in the trade. This time however, it is not for vast quantities, but for their own personal audio system or for a friend, looking to improve the valves in their Chinese import or unable to find replacements for the valves in some expensive exotic European model or simply to renew the valves in their much loved guitar amplifier.
So we looked in to it and decided not only did we have something to offer valve users but, at least on paper, we could make some money doing it.

In order to keep our overheads to a minimum, preferring to offer discounted prices, whether possible, and to invest where it counts - in stock and test facilities, we only sell on line.
